Sponsor a pet and help them get adopted faster!

Getting a shelter pet ready for adoption has many expenses. All pets have to be altered and vaccinated. Our pets are also microchipped so they can find their way home if ever lost after being adopted. BCAS needs your help with these expenses so we can get these animals ready for adoption faster. 99% of the animals that find a haven at BCAS are unaltered and not ready to go back out for adoption without medical care. They need the support from animal lovers like you, to get them on their journey of finding a forever home.

How do I sponsor a shelter pet?

In a few easy steps you can change the life of a shelter pet. BCAS will use the funds donated for that individual animal to provide medical care specific for that animal to get them adoption ready, or provide continued care during their stay at Blackford County Animal Shelter.

View the pets below that need funds to cover expenses to get ready for adoption or you can choose a pet to support monthly while they wait for their forever family.

Click on the appropriate link to sponsor the pet

Click the blue box that says donate to make the pet adoptable. This is a one time donation that covers the costs to have the pet altered, vetted and microchipped. Besure to choose the pet you are sponsoring. You can pay with your PayPal account or with a credit card. Paypal will email you a receipt for your records. Your donation is tax deductible.

BCAS will notify you with information about your sponsored pet

BCAS will reach out to you when your sponsored pet becomes available for adoption and will also let you know when they go home with their new family.

LADY

Lady is a 6 year old Bloodhound that would benefit from some better days. With her long hound ears and gentle spirit she will surely find a home quickly if we could just get her ready for adoption. This lovely lady needs proper flea treatment, a wellness check, spayed, nail trim and some TLC. Lady is about to start a new chapter in her life. We need you to help her with that. She is looking for sponsors with big hearts to get her that new start she deserves. Sponsoring a pet helps shelter animals get the extra tender care they sometimes desperately need. The faster we can care for them and the extra we can afford for them, the faster they can meet their adoptable family and be loved.

MISHA

People are attracted to huskys' due to their luring eyes and beautiful coats but most people are not educated on the needs of a Husky. We take in huskies often but they are just like all dogs, they just need love and your attention. Misha is looking forward to a pup free life and sharing her days with someone who deserves her.
